July's kit is called 'Sugar Sprinkles' and it will be all about the yumminess! Lots of bright colours inspired by jelly, cake and ice cream. Templates will be a fun mix of birthday and baking themes for you to cook up some of the cutest cards ever!
I even did some cupcake baking to get the inspiration going!
I'll include the recipe bellow just in case it's inspired you to get your pinny on too!
Because the topping is completely full of butter and sugar I try to cut it down in the cake so here we go:
Yummy birthday cupcakes
2oz (56g) butter/lowfat alternative (I use Bertoli) - melted
3oz (85g) caster sugar
1 egg
240ml of milk
9oz of Sr Flour
1 tablespoon of baking powder
Beat the egg into the melted butter then add the sugar and milk and stir together so everything is well combined. Add the flour and baking powder and mix it in well. Fill your cupcake cases with the mixture, I use a deep muffin pan to make 6 big cakes and fill them almost to the top so it'll make about 6 large muffin sized cakes or 12 smaller ones. Bake for about 25mins in the center of an oven preheated to 190c. Sorry but not sure what gas mark that is but I'm sure google will let you know. My oven is fan assisted too so it does tend to cook stuff a bit quicker, if your cakes spring back when you push them on the top they're done.
When they're cooked and cooled make up a butter cream topping with about 1 tablespoon of butter to about 8 tablespoons of icing sugar and add a few drops of vanilla essence. Spoon it on top of each cake and sprinkle with hundreds and thousands!
